Wroxham's report.. Dersingham Rovers 2, Wroxham Reserves 1 Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination Premier Division Saturday 28th November 2009
Referee : Edwin Reid (Gorleston) Dersingham started well playing some neat football and had the visitors on the backfoot gaining an early corner. Slowly Wroxham started to get themselves composed with one or two counter attacks of their own. Jack Hubbard set up Ellott Lythgoe on the edge of the area but he was unable to keep his shot down as the ball sailed over. Just as Wroxham seemed to have settled, Dersingham took the lead with an excellent goal. Trevor Daniel spun round and his dipping shot from 20 yards completley deceived Phil Smith as it entered the top corner. Wroxham response saw several passes end with Ryan Lythgoe setting up Danny Boswell but his shot was narrowly wide. Wroxham equalised on 30 minutes when a froo-kick from Colin Wines was dropped by keeper Daniels and after Jamie George hit the post, Matty Banham was on hand to knock the ball home from two yards. Banham was the the saviour for Wroxham at the other end clearing off the line. Dersingham were agin forcing the visitors back and Smith made an excellent save to deny Wes Auker. HT 1-1 Wroxham made a change at half-time bringing on Alex Woods at centre back and moving Colin Wines forward in place of Coren Hardy who had found it difficult to get in the game. This had an immediate effect with Jack Hubbard released by an excellent through ball from Banham but the youngster lack composure and mis-directed a good chance. A dazzling run by Billy Overton for the home side saw him go past several Wroxham players before cutting back to Daniels who shot over. As the game opened up Wroxham had another chance when Boswell should have done better but he too fired over.and Jamie George might have done better when the keeper again fumbled. Wroxham paid for those misses when a long ball out of defence reached Adam Seal on the left and he advanced to the byline before crossing to Daniels who squeezed the ball ball in at the near post to restore Dersingham's lead. Wroxham brought on under 18 striker Josh Tierney for Jamie George and he had one chance for glory but failed to connect. Wroxham were pushing men forward to try and get a point but Dersungham almsot scored a third when Daniels side-footed wide. Full report to follow. FT : Dersingham Rovers 2, Wroxham Reserves 1
